This work is entitled "Let’s go Fly...Bank’s Notes!”

Over the Christmas period, I was watching a series about the career of “Walt Disney” the founder of Mickey Mouse, and the Walt Disney Empire.

Later the film “Saving Mr.Banks” (2013) aired on Television for the first time, and is about telling the story behind the making of the film “Mary Poppins” (1964) from the book by Australian & British author P.L. Travers (aka Goff) and the filmmaker Walt Disney, played by Tom Hanks.

Mr.Banks is the father of the author, P.L. Travers (aka Goff), and depicts him as a Banker, who drinks too much as loses his job. In this work, I’m recreating the final song in the film “Let’s go Fly a Kite”, the Kite is a metaphor for Mr.Banks turbulent life, finally, reaching for the Sky.

I’ve made several “Kites” made with hand-drawn “Bank Notes” (in different currencies, Australian Dollar “A$”, British Pound “£”, and Mickey Mouse Dollar “MS”, nod to Walt Disney), and over crossed these, to suggest drunken behaviour. “Notes” also refers to “Musical” Notes in writing the song.

Depicts Banks Notes, Australian Dollar, "Kylie" Minogue, Pat "Cash", British Pound "Goff" & "Bank", Disney's Mickey Mouse Money, "Walt" Disney, Mary Poppins, as "MP", "Bert" as van Dyke
