Artist's description:

Almost the last of the series that started with The Manta Rays of October and November, this sea scene shows the aftermath of the storm, with the giant claw of some huge crustacean washed up on the shore, like a macabre beached whale but just a part of the huge host creature.

Looking far ahead to a time when we humans have gone leaving the earth's other occupants to resume their geologically slow yet inexorable path to magnificent forms, in a place cleansed of the the idiotic idealogical egotism of people.

There is a small area in the bottom righthand corner that is a bit blurry as I had to retouch the photo to erase a time/date stamp left inadvertently by the digital camera - the actual painting is not affected obviously.
