A canvas of mixed media --- acrylic paint, fused objects, and EL wire fiber optics --- represents the life of a musician In New York. She is balancing precariously on a bar stool, singing like a three legged contortionist and playing a small guitar with a doll-like smile on a glitzy, tiny stage. The East Village is rapidly being removed in wheelbarrows; buildings and local parks are replaced with upscale buildings. The economy is screaming, credit cards are flying, waiters are serving up platters with waxing politicians, and UFOs pop in to add to the chaos and color of a New York lifestyle. Her tiny guitar omits a gentle flickering light while her thicker microphone cable fluctuates in response to the surrounding sounds.

My work reveals the inner and outer workings of figurative painted icons and symbols, attached to the energy of objects that were precious to their former owners, passed down or on to me through vulnerable, combustible and also tender moments - or uncovered and discovered in moments of pure synergism.
I combine the emotional and fantastical magic of the artist's brushstroke, that which embodies their most remarkable and original life force. There are no two humans ever fully alike and I delight in parlaying with acrylic paint. resins, glues, molding pastes, pens, paints, inks and mineral dusts, found and gifted objects, raising the dimension and plane of the paint structure to befriend the architecture of the 2 and 3-D embedded objects. As we champion through this time of technological and brain cognitive high-speed response, our ability to tap faster and further into our own intuition and response to data expands, it is profoundly calming to simply place the energy of an object with the paint figure or form, knowing they never arrive by accident - there is no such concept.
My work embodies the yesteryear of painting to extol figures and likely stories - that can be read in many ways - I supply a template to infinite stories and possibilities that each viewer can find themselves within artwork. It is not up to me to tell you the viewer what to see, what to think and what to feel when you embrace my art, it is up to you the viewer to travel deep to each portal I provide, scurry up close to the minutiae - tiny pleasures - and cracks in the veneer - to seek what your mind and eye are searching for, then stand back and revisit the full embodiment. You resound, you know you have found a kinship with both my artistic creation and my personal energy - no one of us is alike and you for some reason resound with me!
This in itself is the very magic of living in the now - not always knowing why but trusting it must be so.
I trust you are reading this as you have just decided to take a piece of me home with you and know we are forever bound.
My sincere thanks,
