The Singel canal encircled Amsterdam like a moat until the city outgrew it in 1585. I chose this view because it's so picturesque - you'd never guess that across the water, the city's second largest red light district is tucked away discreetly behind a series of red windows. That's Amsterdam for you. Grandeur and debauchery cheek by jowl.
I have made several long prints in this format as commissions, but this is the first which I've made for general sale.
This is an original, handmade lino print, hand painted with acrylic inks. Each print is therefore a unique work of art, and no two are exactly the same. If you would like to see your specific print before purchase, please contact me and I will e-mail you an image.
I take great care to ensure that my prints will last for a long time. I use only acid-free paper, printed with Van Son rubber based printing ink, and coloured with permanent acrylic inks. The image size is 262x105. Each print is signed along with its limited edition number (one of 100). These prints are not mounted because they are larger than my usual size and wouldn't fit in your letterbox!
