This large watercolour is a large painting of a beautiful silver grey thistle whichc grows in my friend's garden. The thistle 'Silver Ghost' is a ‘cousin’ of Miss Wilmot’s Ghost. Miss Wilmot was an eccentric Edwardian gardener who went around other people’s gardens sowing the seeds of her favourite thistle which became known as Miss Wilmot's Ghost. In comparison, Silver Ghost is more flamboyant with a more complex petal structure.
It is painted on heavy watercolour paper and is floated within a soft metallic gold coloured frame. It is a serene painting and looks lovely in a sitting room or a bedroom.
