'Shy Guy' as the name suggests, depicts a beautiful hearted male, who's warm heart awaits the first steps out into the open, the light, through the metaphorical stable door. He is timid, yet strong, poised yet patient. There is a touch of anticipation in his manner, an excitement perhaps but a subdued excitement. He is an intuitive soul; he sees far with his deep eyes, into the hearts and soul of all who love him. He is tender and protective.
As a child, I used to love horses (I still very much do). I spent quite a bit of time around them, and felt often their gentle nature, their deep intelligence and an unwavering knowing. There is something incredibly healing about horses. Something beyond words...
Perhaps this is why I translated this love, into a painting :-)
'Shy Guy' was the centre of attention at my recent exhibit. Some pondered his thoughts, others his feelings. Some just loved this magical animal and appreciated a painting of a horse!
This is one of those paintings that looks great in different lighting. He is slightly more vibrant in the day time, focus drawing closer to his mane, and the softness of his ears. At night, in subtle warm light, he really picks up depth, drawing a somewhat hypnotic allure into his eyes; his inner heartbeat.
Soothing and warm.
With Love :-)
