Artist's description:

The Agapanthus blossoms through sub tropical climes for 2 or 3 months. To me the most attractive or interesting time is just before and just after the blossom pod breaks open. Once the pod breaks, and the blossoms push their way to the sunlight, they create an evocative image. The blossoms are still closed, but the colours are light purples and mauves. They appear to be raising themselves from a slumber to which they will never return. Flowers are beautiful, whether they've blossomed or not.
