A cute little oil painting of a typical Dutch landscape with sheep and pollard trees at the dike. It shows very well the different levels with the small road high on the dike, the trees on the lower inner dike and the sheep and the farm sheds down in the polder. On a cloudless crispy clear spring day in Holland the sky is a true blue and the grass of the farmlands a very juicy green..
Just one day of sketching offered me enough inspiration for a series of paintings. At this specific spot (near the village of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel) I created some drawings of sheep, horses, wooden fences and trees. At the studio, preparing my panels I chose some smaller ones to recreate what I had seen. This is one of a series of ten landscapes I created after that day.

The painting is varnished and ready to hang.
