"She had pride"captures both the beauty and strength the women of the Ziegfeld Follies possessed. In the book "Jazz age Beauties" (by Robert Hudovernik) Alfred Cheney Johnston's lost collection of photography are brought together depicting images of the Zeigfeld Follies. The style, traditional compositions also capture the balance of beauty and character of many of the women. Some of the women's stories entail great highs and lows of life some inspiring some tragic.
"She had pride" acknowledges the strength that those women had, a potential to burn bright as a star. A word that the 1920's harnessed as "moxie" infused integrity, drive and attitude.
