I wanted to get across the form and structure underlying such a strong creature so chose to paint him using the dry oil brush technique. There is no room for error and yet by using this technique I feel you can be much more expressive. Every brush stroke counts to make the whole. The effect is almost three dimensional as he pings off the canvas.
The background around him has the lightest touch of cream and silver paint which gives the picture a glistening lustre, not much but it does it does pick up any bright light nicely.
The slight yellowing in the silver background is where I used liquin to thin the paint, it gives it a mellowed look. you can see this more clearly in the side on photographs available.
