Artist's description:

1985 a Peace Convoy of New Age Travellers (Hippies) on their way to the Stonehenge Free Festival in Wiltshire, was prevented by the UK police. Conflict erupted and several policemen and New Age Travellers ended up in hospital, the conflict became known as the 'Battle of the Beanfield'.
Police brutality inflicted violence upon pregnant women and the peace-loving Hippies had all their mobile homes and possessions destroyed.
This abstract painting portrays my interpretation of the fragmentation of the New Age Movement and the beauty of the Mind, Body & Spirit - the legacy of the New Age Travellers. The title is taken from Prof, George McKay's book: 'Senseless Acts of Beauty' of that time in human history - where an alternative way of life was ruthlessly put down because of it's cultures of resistance.
