Here I’ve combined traditional and renaissance aesthetic with my own personal taste. Similar to a technique I’ve witnessed in Botticelli’s work, the surfaces of the outline of the dove and seedlings are in low relief. Another technique originating in the renaissance and adapted by artists like Picasso for example, is the use of an under painting which shows through the finished work. I've used a dark blue green for the first coat and when painted over with yellow and white we see a resemblance of the sky through clouds.
This work is of a timely subject which I have tried to handle with the most sensitivity and thoughtfulness. The picture occurred to me while reading Psalm 22:10.
Gallery wrapped canvas painted to match the painting, ready to hang but may be framed if you wish.
