‘Seasons Resplendence’ is a mixed media collage/assemblage presented in a glazed, soft wood box frame. The image is 30cm x 30 cm, with the framed size at 36cm x 36cm. The box depth is 3.5cm.
‘Seasons Resplendence’ combines simple textured and patterned papers, tissue paper, canvas fabric, package labels and pale acrylic colour. The background image also includes transfer prints of photographs and ink pen drawing. Collected wild flowers and small twigs have been arranged across the collaged surface.
‘Seasons Resplendence’ is part of a series of assemblages in response to coastal environments I have visited. The artwork, ‘Seasons Resplendence’, is inspired by observations made from a walk along a coastal path. Similarly to other works in this series the work intends to capture and raise awareness to the ways in which we interact with the natural world.
