This work was a long and slow and painful birth. The subject is a childhood memory of a highway crash. The work was triggered by (and also pays homage to) a beloved community member who tragically lost his life on a nearby highway crash caused by black ice. That a diviner rod surfaced that is attached to my bellybutton is a wonder to me. Drawing this work was physical and very much came from my belly.
