Artist's description:

Far from a fleet survey cruiser, a lone reconnaissance pilot has touched down in a SABIC II on a raised plateau on a remote moon and is placing an automated sensor pack along with a federation marker flag. The night-time wind is dropping although dust still streams around his feet and over the cliff edge.

He pauses to watch the star-rise behind a nearby gas giant and another of the inner moons. This explorer is many hundreds of light years from home, earth is undetectable in a spiral arm somewhere in the plane of the galaxy.

This is a study of wonder and, very possibly, profound lonleiness as the single human presence alone in such a panorama at the edge of the galaxy.

A Certificate of Authenticity is supplied with all my paintings, in addition to being signed on the front there is always a written description, signature and date completed on the back.
