The north coast of Scotland has some amazing beaches, unfortunately we don't often get the weather to enjoy them to their fullest. Rispond Bay is one such beach in the County of Sutherland. All craggy rock formations and cliffs dropping down into the sea, it makes for a wonderful landscape.
We spent a beautiful weekend travelling along the coast towards the west, stopping off at several beaches to walk our dogs and take photographs. This painting was inspired by one such photo that I took at Rispond Bay. I did however use my artistic licence to the fullest by turning day into night and changing the sunshine to moonshine.
This is another of those teeny tiny canvasses I bought thinking they were 5x5 inches not 5x5cms. I'm doing a series of mini original art fridge magnets as these are the perfect size for that and it is a fun way to own some affordable original artwork.
I've also made a time lapse video of this little painting being made which you can see on my profile page.
