Artist's description:

I painted this small painting when i finally finished my bigger painting: "Homage to New York…" which is an Imaginative work inspired by my first visit to New York and my feelings about America. I love the books of Scott Fitzgerald particularly "The Great Gatsby" and used the title as a word play within the painting. I realised that some of the images in the painting could become separate small pictures, though didn't get beyond this one. The building is based on one i saw from the Empire State building with a turquoise roof. The Fitzgeralds lived on long Island when the iconic 30's art deco buildings were constructed and they were part of the jazz age.
