While walking in the forests of Scotland I would come across these ancient gnarled specimens which stood in such contrast to the straight pines around them. These are the Scots Pine trees; twisted, tortured shapes raising their branches up, fighting for light amid the gloom of the forest. This is the first of several I hope to paint; so many weird and wonderful shapes it is hard to know what to paint next! I have made the tree the star by painting a hazy background; it deserves to be the focus!
Acrylic paint on chunky box canvas, the painting continues around the sides so this can be hung without a frame. Varnished in Matt varnish.
Ready to hang.
Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
41x51x4 cm approx.
