Artist's description:

This painting started out as a vivid dream on awakening I immediately set to work making sketches and trying out compositions.
I remember many excited hours building go-karts or soap box's such as this, old discarded pram wheels became treasured items. We seemed to play for hours with hammer and nails then raced down streets at break neck speeds.
Often children, me included would run from the British bobby even when we had done nothing wrong it came from a sort of respectful fear I think.
I had fun painting this image hope you enjoy viewing and with luck it will evoke memories of a much simpler time.
