Sentient, I breathe deep. I see the light and feel its warmth against my skin, I smell the scent of the damp earth and hear the rustle of leaves on trees. I am ready. I am alive.
Sentient is an impressionist interpretation of a beautiful evening sun seen through trees and foliage. The light is refracted into a myriad of colours, red, orange, blue and violet tones. Rich, vibrant shades inspired by the palette of Van Gogh fill the canvas. Painted with short strokes of multiple layers of oil colour the painting exudes a peaceful quality.
