Artist's description:

a small canvas-board, postcard sized and easily placed into a standard frame. Inspired by one of the illustrated children's books in my collection, called "rainbow rhino", which uses large color graidient backgrounds with simple illustrated figures over the backdrop and a faint hint of texture using various techniques. for this piece, i painted a color gradient that came to me sporadically and began to see a turbulent ocean with a faint ship on the horizon. after adding the ship, some clouds and a few spatters to create depth, i felt the piece needed a story or some conflict, so the tentacles emerged! what's the story? i hope the buyer of this piece has a wild imagination!

Materials used:

canvasboard, acrylic paint, clear fixative
