I have strong memories of storm clouds gathering, blotting out the sun and making the sea a strange aquamarine colour. In the picture, the sailing boat is made separately and then felted on top to depict that boats are manmade and therefore 'separate' to the landscape.
The crashing waves in the foreground are pure silk.
