Artist's description:

I had taken a trip to Malta during the Christmas holiday 2017. Before I embarked, I got the commission to paint a sailboat. Almost everyday on this trip I set out with my plein air box to find some scenery to paint, thinking, I will eventually find the sailboat. I hadn't been thinking right. Since it was winter most boats where pulled on land or tied up together in the harbour. Towards the end of my time I had gotten slightly frantic. I had rented a scooter and had lots of fun exploring Gozo and on my last day I went around looking for a boat. Finally in Mgarr harbour I came upon this beauty and got to do a plein air painting. When I got back home I did this bigger work of it in a slightly different composition from my plein air sketch. I really loved the colour of the water on Malta. So pure and clear. In the pictures you can see the plein air sketch that I did on location and already sold.
