Artist's description:

I can almost here the usually cheery music of a carnival turned unsettling by instruments tuned slightly off key. The smell of stale popcorn and sticky-sweet cotton candy fills noses of the small town, but no citizen dares go in, they hear the grinding of gears, huge gears, gears that crush bones and metal without distinction. Their robots all seem on edge too, seeming to need to be oiled more frequently, circuits shorting out. Though the cool nights are a relief from the oppressively sweltering days, none are foolish enough to open a window to catch a breeze, the smell of the sickly sweet candy hypnotizes any nose it wafts under, sending a subliminal call of "come... come... come...". Finally, after a almost hellish week of stress, sweat and nightmares, the circus moves on to attempt to entice a different town and all goes back to normal.
