Safe behind the Cobb, Lyme Regis

The most memorable harbour on the south coast of England, perhaps? Lyme Regis, famous for fossils and the French Lieutenant's Woman. It's a working harbour, safe within the curl of the Cobb, a wonky stone wall where one can walk remarkably free of health and safety warnings. Once a year a memorial candle-lit event see the Cobb lined with thousands of tiny flames - absolutely magical. For the rest of the year it's home to small fishing boats and overlooked by cafes selling the day's catch on a plate.
