Artwork description:

Sadness #6

A piece from the limited series “States and Emotions” of 21 miniature prints on paper.

The series has been inspired by Japanese manga, Renga 連歌 poetry, and Russian book graphic artists of 19-20 century as Vladimir Favorsky, Nikolay Kupreyanov, and Dmitrii Bisti.

This is an immersing into various empathic conditions and simulation of the psychotherapeutic experience in order to feel and understand complex emotions through the process of empathy. I supplement every image with Japanese hieroglyphs, and each word refers to a particular state or an emotional condition. However, the purpose of an image is not to directly illustrate a certain word, but to create a synergy effect along the process of simultaneous perception.

Each of the 21 pieces interacts with other ones, allowing the collector to tell a personal story that may become an individual artistic filling of the interior space.

Paper
