Artist's description:

acrylic, collage and high-gloss resin on wood

This work is concerned, like many of mine, with the relationship between surface and space, and between order and chaos, and with our expectations of painting.

The dots are painted in acrylic on Fabriano paper and collaged onto a pre-prepared acrylic-on-wood background. Each of the dots is painted a slightly different hue of orange, based on its relationship with the colours behind it. The whole is then sealed with a high-gloss resin. I regard the glossy surface not just as protection but as part of the sense of the work.

Due to the high-glass finish, it would be best to hand this painting over in person, rather than wrap it. The generic delivery prices below are therefore outline guides an should not be taken as part of a contract. Actual transport is something we would need to discuss.

Materials used:

acrylic, collage and high-gloss resin on plywood on timber substrate
