Artist's description:

Rock Wall At Burns Creek by Chaline Ouellet
This Landscape is of the remains of an old rock wall that was built by Chinese laborers during the California gold rush. Walls like this dot the Northern California landscape especially near old towns that were active durning the goldrush in 1849. This wall near the town of Hornitos, California sits near the bank of Burns Creek. The hillside is dry and barren with oak trees and dry grasses, sagebrush and thistles. Hornitos is in Mariposa County in the Central Valley of Gold Country. It is Northwest of Yosemite and South of Sacramento. Hornitos which was a boom town is now more or less a ghost town.
