Original artwork description:

The latest in my series of birds of the Rhone Alps is the magnificent Rock Partridge, in french 'La Perdrix de Roches.'

This handsome Galliforme isn't a big flyer, preferring to trot along when startled rather than take to the skies.

It was a joy to paint especially because of my love for pastel shades.

Painted on a page of 'The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady' The reverse of the painting has a reproduction of one of the author's own beautiful illustrations.

Materials used:

Acrylic and pencil
