Artist's description:

Green colour is used especially in landscape where a lot of elements from nature wares this hue. Using greens straight from the tubes will result in an amateur painting. At a first look to a photo such as the Roberton Island it seem to be easy to reproduce the nature in all its splendour but when it comes to harmoniously transfer it on canvas the colour mix becomes muddy and hence inexpressive. What did I do? Trying something unusual such as mixing black with yellow to get dark greens, burnet umber with cadmium yellow light for soft tones and eventually phthalo blue with cadmium yellow light to get vibrant tones………Hope you enjoy it.
