In the fall of 2014, I took a road trip from my home in New Mexico to the Pacific Northwest. My painting, "Three Nudes" had been accepted into a prestigious show so I hand-delivered it. I painted and took photos for future paintings all along the way--and used a different route returning home for variety. This painting is the first from this "Road Trip" series.
Originally, all of the paintings were planned to be small, but when I looked at the photographs from the Bonneville Salt Flats in Nevada, I knew that a small canvas could not adequately convey the magnitude of the landscape--and the storm that was rolling in. So, this one is 48" x 60".
