Study of a pair of rare birds also known as Mountain Blackbirds. They are similar to a blackbird except for a ring of white feathers on the male and a darker version on the female. Their appearance is both familiar and unusual, their name comes from the old English for all blackbirds. I find them very compelling.

copper plate, black and Prussian blue etching ink, ferric chloride
