A Vibrant and intricate original acrylic painting in which soaking up the vibes of being in a city is captured on the cobbled street of the infamous Michelin star, Michael Caines' restaurant, Abode, in Exeter, with a dramatic sky which echoes the colours used in the buildings.
Exeter Cathedral Green; where the architecture is simply breathtaking and compelled me to capture it in paint.
This semi-impressionist painting is a true showstopper! I knew it was going to be bright when I was painting it, but once finished, it had even more vibrancy than I'd foreseen. Hand painted with precise mark-making, occasional loose strokes, and the smooth flow of one colour into the next, in a minutely fine brush to capture all the detail. I live in Devon, Exeter is my closest city. I not only love this restaurant but that whole area.
My signature psychedelically contrasting palette creates an inspiring, uplifting scene. This piece took me over three weeks to complete; the speed of application is slow going with a fine brush (as you can see in one of the pictures) and colour change at every stroke, but my patience held. I'm delighted with the finished piece and hope you enjoy it too.
