This piece came about when I went to the fabric store and bought 5 ribbons. I came home and found a cardboard cylinder (the inside of paper towels). I took each ribbon and wrapped them around the cylinder. I became fascinated and took another cylinder and then placed them together. It looked cool. I painted the canvas with raw sienna and then black. I divided the canvas as though multiple cylinders and then painted "ribbons" around each cylinder.
