Artist's description:

The waves had never seen such proud boulders. In their excitement to meet this new, but ancient land, the waves crashed straight into them. They experienced the rock in all of its fullness. They knew in an instant what it was to hold intimate hiding spaces for crabs. They felt the dull sting of the jellyfish stranded on top. They tasted the gratitude of the worm snails who found a delicious spot to spin a shell. The waves thought, “Oh, boulders you are so generous! You give homes to those who need, a place of diginity to die in the sun, and another chance to remember this all with you again. I must return now, to the other side where the shores are slow & full of sand. I’ll bring this little pebble of you with me, and I’ll tell everyone of your strength on my way.”
