Painting emotion is something that has become very near and dear to my heart. The struggle to capture every sense of a word is another challenge that seems to draw my attention. With this piece the goal was to evoke the deep and disturbing feeling of remorse. A feeling that when it hits, you feel it in the deepest part of your stomach. We have all had this feeling. Make a decision, an action, giving a statement, in which we reap the consequences there after. This encumbering feeling is captured by the dark "web" designs near the left side of the painting. But the scars of previous decisions are never far either, captured by the stitching underneath the eye.The color choices were meant to elude on the emotions enveloped in remorse, sadness, disappear, hatred, and in rare cases, positivity. Even though the imagery is dark and the concept is grim, the goal is to shine a light to this feeling and how it in fact strengths us. These decisions mold our lives and us into the unique individuals that we have become. These experiences will simple just become another stitch in the canvas that we call life.
The painting does have a hammer like appearance in person,if it is not captured in the photographs. There is also a healthy amount of gloss in certain areas. This ensures that the painting comes alive in different angles and times of the day.
