This is one of my latest abstract fluid paintings, created on canvas using poured acrylic paints & media. I’m truly impressed by how amazing this painting technique is. The process of creating is almost magical, as lines, shapes and colors flow, move, mix, morph, fuse together, appear to form and rearrange before one’s eyes, seemingly by itself, resembling the great Walt Disney’s masterpiece “Fantasia”. There’s great deal of creative freedom and spontaneity in this process and the results can be highly unpredictable and surprising. Still, there’s some preparation (selection of colors, pre–mix, etc) and some tweaking/ paint manipulation in a number of different ways along the way is required from an artist. And every painting comes out completely unique: no two are alike.
At this stage, I like using this fluid painting technique in combination with some others and as such techniques and tools (sticks, etc) to move and manipulate the image, following the spirit movements of the moment. After the paint is completely dried, I may add some additional touches to emphasize the contrast, embellish, add graphical element, etc. Thus, the final result may qualify as mixed media in some cases.
“Renaissance Splash” is my original fluid abstract acrylic painting on 16”x20” on stretched, cotton canvas. The richness of color scheme and elaborate intricacy of shapes, surrounding the center, like an ornate vignette style frame, reminded me of the Renaissance (hence, the title).
Colors: yellow, blue, burgundy, magenta, gold, black (outline)
This painting is ready to hang and finished in UV protective gloss varnish. The sides are painted so there's no need to frame it. Note: The painting looks much better in real life, as my photographs could not capture correctly true colors and texture. The painting comes signed (initialed) on the front and also with a Certificate of Authenticity.
