In the Buddahist tradition, in the first year after death the soul of the departed is released by their family symbolically with a candle floating out to sea. In this painting you can see the glowing paper and wood houses lit by a candle as they are released to the sea. This painting has been created using only profession grade acrylics on un-stretched canvas.
