Artist's description:

Pondering on the relationship between art and science I discovered that one of the greatest scientists ever, Albert Einstein, made the quotation "The greatest scientists are artists as well". This quote inspired my piece 'Relatively Speaking' which explores the stark contrast between the abstract without rules and the formality of science with its strict laws.

Using acrylics, dot dice, a lens from an antique camera, part of a page from a 100-year-old dictionary, the piece incorporates a mixed-media panel which was part of a Victorian 'Dark Slide' used in early photography and made of Honduran mahogany.

This piece is beautifully deep box-framed in black wood.
