Artist's description:

Sometimes it's the simple things that make the most impression. This pose has a stillness, but by using a bright yellow (with a slight tint of green), a bright red outline and complementary green tones, the picture becomes alive. Whilst this looks easy to do, drawing the right line without using any form of eraser takes time and hard observation.

Drawn in bright pastels on pastel card. The size given is the size of the image you see in the photograph.

Lightly fixed, the drawing will be mounted in a 40 cm (16 inch) square mount/mat for delivery.

I regularly go to open sessions with a life model is great to improve observation skills. Looking intently at the bone structure, tendons and muscles sharpens the ability to notice how they work. It's a great way of sharing the costs of a model, ideas, feedback and what's going on in the world of art.

NB the colour of the picture may be slightly different on your monitor/phone depending on settings.

Materials used:

soft pastels
