Artist's description:

A view of hot sunny peaceful summer-holiday days around the harbours in Cornwall and Devon. Such a different story in the news today after storms have battered the West Country for weeks this Winter.
This is a unique acrylograph painting, and this is how I do it.
I like to visit the place and make sketches and/or take photographs. Next I return to my studio to make a new original painting on canvas, paper, or board. Then I scan or photograph the painting to make a digital file. Following that, I work on the digital file on my computer where I can resize, crop, flip, saturate colour, etc., and where I develop the image that I print out onto canvas. The last stage is where I paint over the printed surface with new ideas, features, highlights, and textures.
So my work progresses bit by bit. I can look at the last thing I did and tweak it, a little or a lot, to create a new, different, distinctive, result. There are effects that can only be achieved with real paint and other great results that are obtainable using digital means. Technically the end result is an acrylograph, which is a sort of hybrid, half print, half original painting. Each one is unique.
WOW. I really enjoy making this stuff!!
