Artist's description:

This painting was inspired by a visit to Cornwall during the summer of 2017. I spent a day out on the beach at Gwithian opposite Godrevy Lighthouse. Although the sun was shining the wind was blowing a gale and the sea was very rough and stormy. It was a spectacular sight and showed Cornwall at its best. The lifeguards had put the red flag out to stop people from swimming in the sea due to the strong tides and currents. I have hopefully captured some of the drama of that day in this painting.

Materials used:

Oil paint and varnish
