Artist's description:

The first culture in the world to use dragons in their mythology and beliefs are the Chinese who believe that dragons bring good fortune, prosperity and bounty. The Western Dragon, however, is a very different creature; often a fearsome, fire breathing figure that kills heros and terrifies whole villages. In a Welsh story the Red Dragons' shrieks caused women to miscarry, animals to perish and plants to become barren. However there were also dragons whose whole existence was to serve and protect a kingdom, or prince, and they display the most sterling qualities of loyalty and sacrifice.
Today the dragon is continuously popular among Celtic revivalist artists, especially story tellers and craftsmen.
This image of the Red Dragon was the best selling image in the Tailten Games range of puzzles. Here is a unique chance to own the original!
