Artist's description:

The 'Red Berries' series of images should really be named something like 'my walks through the seasons in the woods, red berries and catkins'.
Early in 2015 I rescued two lovely dogs which in turn, forced me to walk every day. I started to explore Rutland, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire with my four legged friends and my camera. I had recently retired from working in the field of Arts education and needed to get back to my own roots as an artist, so these walks with my camera helped me to start 'looking' again. I started noticing all those subtle changes throughout the seasons in the shapes, colours and textures around me as I walked through woods, across fields and waded through streams. My camera captured special moments and movement, the effects of the changing weather and light, stormy skies, the skeletal trees and leaves of the winter and the bright colours of autumn, spring and summer. I collected objects from the forest floor such as leaves, twigs and stones to draw, photograph in isolation or scan directly into my computer.
A selection of these visual elements are brought into my computer to be placed and layered to create the final composition. The high quality giclee print is then presented in a white bevel cut window mount with black core., external size of mount 34 x 34 cm.

Materials used:

A limited edition giclee print. Printed on acid free watercolour paper using ultra chrome archival standard inks for longevity, each print is signed and numbered on the front with the title. The mounted print also comes with a certificate of authenticity.
