Painting a model from life can be a tricky thing. What the artist sees in three dimensions must be converted into two. What the eye catches in millions of color hues and values, must be recreated on canvas using only a handful of colors. And the model, the sweet sweet model, must sit still, not moving a muscle... or at least not until I'm done with that part. :) It's quite the challenge! But what fun it is!
This particular model was a very sweet gal and did a terrific job sitting for the group. I really enjoyed getting to know her and the contrast of this serious expression that she held so well, and her soft and gentle spirit. We are so much more than what a single interaction or communication may convey to those on the outside. It's barely scratching the surface.
This painting is available framed as pictured, or if you prefer to purchase it unframed the price would be $45 less.
