Artist's description:

This woman is receiving the gifts and blessings that abound, if one is open.
I used oil paint for the face; covered it with clear encaustic; added white milk paint details and silver pigment in the rain drops that I flung on from several feet away. NEEDS NO FRAMING.

I am a woman painting women; women that reflect the inspiration that comes from that private, quiet place inside their own being; opening their consciousness and receiving that soundless, small voice of guidance; the gut feeling, an inner awareness. They are opening their consciousness, becoming still and listening; going within to tap their divine intuition. It could be through contemplation, meditation, or simply a place of peace. Deep communion with the higher self can only happen in stillness.

In this series, I have portrayed women with their eyes closed, and or lightly covered. This is not a mask to hide from the world, but an indication of self-removal from outside distractions so as to reflect and connect with their higher self.
