Artist's description:

Raku Fired Harlequin Dream Jar II Raku Ceramic 7" x 9" x 2"

I am intrigued by Contemporary Japanese style and Art Deco style, so I incorporated the two in this Raku fired artwork.
No piece of Raku is the same, always unique and completely unpredictable.
This piece is in the most beautiful colours, and at first glance appears to be made of stone and pure copper.
The artwork has been fired twice to 1,000C and taken out of the kiln still glowing red and plunged into a reduction chamber containing all natural combustible materials collected from our Cornish hedgerows. The 'recipe' is a closely guarded secret and produces the most amazing metallic finishes on the Raku.

Materials used:

Clay smoke oxides fire glazes and a little magic secret recipe
