Abstract Impressionist oil on canvas, native medicine man performing a rain dance. This developed as an abstract and appeared vaguely (my subconscious speaking again, lol) then I developed it enough to portray a native, first peoples, impression of a rain dance. It is deliberately diffused to show the action and energy of the motion of his dance. Knowing when to stop is the hard part for an artist. Developing a piece with enough weight, color and energy, then being wise enough to stop is a very good habit to develop. I know my artist colleagues will understand what I mean. Like being a good editor, what isn't crucial to the story must be omitted or not stated, as the viewer will fill in the details. I have had several wonderful adventures with some native people, elders and medicine men and women here in the USA, some quite famous, and yes I witnessed this type of so called "magic" of calling in rain, etc. This is ready to hang, it is painted on the edges and will include a wire but framing it would be great too.
