Many people might not know the important role that railroads played in art history. Railroads gave artists easy access to gorgeous scenery and locations that formerly were too remote or otherwise difficult to reach. With the advent of railroads, artists could travel easily and quickly to find new subject matter.
The railroad scene in this painting is one that I observed when I visited the railroad museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
This original painting is sold unframed. Please note: This painting is on a thin canvas panel; not on frame-stretched canvas. Photos showing the work in a frame are for example only.
