Artist's description:

So, this something a little different from what you might usually find on my Artfinder shop.

Here we have a Multi-plate aquatint etching. Two colours, black and turquoise.

Depicted is a giant Octopus quietly waiting beneath the sea as a small paper boat floats across the oceans surface. Amongst the undulating waves and tangled tentacles there is a stillness; a quiet that lingers in anticipation as a rouge tentacle creeps its way to the waters edge.

There where two reasons for me making this print.

Firstly, I desperately wanted to push my technique and overcome my fear of multi-plate registration..... tick.

Secondly, I wanted to bring an illustrative/graphical feel to a process that is traditionally very conceptually utilised.

As ever, whimsical and playful contexts play a key role in this piece.

As I develop my practice further, I can feel the importance of narrative becoming more and more prominent.

Anyhow, I hope you enjoy this print :) It was an experience to make and I can't wait to get started on the next one. Keep your eyes peeled 0_o

Happy Art Hunting.

Love xx
